'스페이스K'는 2011년 과천에서 시작한

코오롱의 문화예술 나눔공간이다.

2020년 9월 강서구 마곡동에 확대 개관한

스페이스K 서울은 예술을 활용한 코오롱의

차별화된 예술사회공헌 활동으로 그간 국내

신진작가, 재조명이 필요한 중견 작가 등을

발굴해 전시 기회를 제공해 왔다.

또한, 국내에 덜 알려진 해외 작가 전시를 개최하는 등

예술가에게 지속적인 창작을 할 수 있는

지원과 후원을 통해 현대미술 저변 확대에 힘쓰고 있다.

코오롱의 문화예술 나눔공간〈스페이스K 서울〉은 영국 출신 개념 미술가

‘라이언 갠더(Ryan Gander)’의 개인전을 마련했습니다.

 

‘변화율(The Rates of Change)’이란 제목으로 개최되는 이번 전시는

‘시간’으로부터 파생된 작가의 생각을 설치와 조각, 평면, 사진 등 다양한 매체로 풀어냅니다.

 

일상적 사물로 관객에게 예기치 못한 스토리텔링을 유도하는 라이언 갠더의 작품들은

진부한 맥락과 낡은 인식에서 벗어나 새로운 해석의 가능성을 제시합니다.

특히 이번 개인전에서는 작가의 주요 작품은 물론 야외에 설치되는 대형 조각을 함께 선보입니다.

 

기호와 관습은 물론 어떠한 형식에도 얽매이지 않으며

이해와 소통의 장을 펼쳐온 라이언 갠더의 예술 세계로 여러분을 초대합니다.

 

 

Space K Seoul is pleased to announce 'The Rates of Change', a solo exhibition by British artist Ryan Gander.

'The Rates of Change' explores Gander’s ongoing preoccupation with the fluctuating value systems of time, money, opportunity, attention and privilege. Shown through a diverse set of mediums including painting, installation, sculpture, animatronics and photography, Gander subverts everyday signs and objects to reveal new interpretations and unexpected stories. For this exhibition, significant works by the artist will be presented alongside a newly commissioned outdoor sculpture. We invite you into the world of Ryan Gander, who has the ability to heighten understanding and communication without being bound by symbols and customs of any form.
